At the Southern Cross K9 Resort, we boast over 1 acre in the heart of Ballarat for our guests to enjoy, romp, and relax every day.
Our boarding kennel isn’t like any other boarding kennel! In fact, we aren’t a boarding kennel at all. Our state of the art facility is a kennel/cage free environment where we let our canine guests spend their days as they choose within our carefully structured routine – lounging at our feet by the TV, playing in our fully fenced 1 acre yard with like-minded buddies, or participating in group or individual activities to exercise their mind, body and soul. Your dog will have an amazing time with 24hr supervision by our trained team! Each dog much pass a suitability test and we only have very limited numbers. We believe that socialisation is vital to the happiness of dogs, whether it is human or canine companionship and because of this, we provide intimate and nurturing care. Pet parents can rest assured that their canine family member is in a relaxing, fun, and safe environment.
The facility is set on over an acre of land right in the heart of Ballarat, is fully climate controlled with heating and cooling throughout. We are confident in saying that we have one of the best boarding facilities in Australia!

Suitability and Requirements
- Dog must have up to date C5 Vaccination.
- Dog must be desexed if over 8 months of age (unless current & regular daycare client with approved medical exemption)
- Dog must be social with other dogs.
- Have passed a behavioural assessment through us or attend our dog daycare casually or regularly (more info below).
- Passed a trial sleepover with us.
- Dog must be up to date with flea and worming treatments.
- Dog must be healthy upon drop off at facility.
- Dog must not have had any symptoms of coughing, runny stools, vomiting 7 days before presentation to facility. If unsure about this please contact us!
How do I book in for boarding ?

1st step– All dogs must pass a behavioural assessment to ensure they are appropriate and happy at our Canadian daycare facility. Your doggo will be integrated into our Canadian daycare throughout the day whilst they are staying with us. These are available by appointment Mon- Fri drop off between 8-10am and pickup before 1pm. ** Please note** If you are a current daycare client, we will be able to make a recommendation as to whether a trial is required on a case by case basis as we know your doggo very well already 🙂
2nd step– All Doggos must partake in a trial sleepover, this is to make sure they are going to love and thrive whilst boarding with us 🙂 The typical format for this is drop off in the morning for a fabulous day of daycare and then sleepover. We will keep you in the loop throughout the day as to how they are going throughout their stay and if we feel this is not the right fit we will give you a call between 7-9pm to pick them up 🙂
Once all steps have been passed congratulations you are a boarding client at SCK9 and can book as much boarding as you would like with us 🙂
We appreciate your understanding with this screening process, It is super important to us that all the doggo are loving their stay and we have found this process has meant we have a facility full of doggos who are happy, thriving and loving their holiday as much as you are!!!

Check in/Check out times:
Check in: 8-10am Only (This is so we can settle in your dog for the day before bed that night!)
Check Out: 8-10am or 4-6pm.
Please note: If you pick up before 10am on your dogs last day then you will not be charged for the last day.

Pricing
$1000 Per week.
1 week minimum. Stay duration depends on a case by case basis. Please contact us so we can do an assessment.
Cost includes go home session with dog and handler to go over what your dog has learnt!
We don’t currently offer this service for any aggression issues. Dogs must be social with dogs and humans.
Issues we work with for Board and Train:
– Leash reactivity.
– General Obedience (Pulling on leash, general manners etc).
Price inclusions
- 100% supervision by our trained team at all times. Three of us are qualified dog trainers!
- Full day of fun at our Canadian daycare facility.
- Individual or shared luxurious sleeping suite or sleeping in open area with other likeminded guests.
- Daily health check – head to paw.
- Daily maintenance grooming – no guest will return home matted!

Daily Routine
7.00 am – Rise and Shine
7.15 am – Run around the outdoor area
8.00 am 9.30 am – Morning cruise around and welcoming the daily daycare doggos.
10.00 am 12.00pm – Daycare activities
12.00 pm – 2.00 pm – Relaxation time
2.00 pm – 5.00 pm – Afternoon exercise and daycare – this will vary according to each guest’s needs.
5.00 pm – 5.30 pm – Dinner
5.30 pm – 6.00 pm – Relaxation and calming music before bed.
6.00 pm – Lights out!
